A new and facile route was developed to manipulate the growth of hierarchically ordered Mn 2 O 3 architectures via a solvothermal approach. Various solvents are employed to control the product morphologies and structures. Mn 2 O 3 with unique cuboctahedral, truncated-octahedral, and octahedral shapes are obtained, and a possible formation mechanism is proposed.
