Objective. To assess available foreign data on clinical effects of SVF therapy in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis. Material and methods. We review foreign articles in the PubMed, Medline and Scopus databases using the keywords “SVF therapy”, “knee osteoarthritis”, “regenerative medicine” between 2017 and 2023. There were 172 manuscripts including 103 unique full-text articles suitable for analysis. Of these, 22 manuscripts met the selection criteria. Results. There are some therapeutic advantages of SVF therapy. Most studies demonstrated the efficacy and safety of this technique, positive clinical results and low incidence of adverse reactions. However, different study design and sample size require caution in interpretation and comparison of results. In addition to positive results, it is necessary to understand methodological limitations of a particular study. Conclusion. SVF therapy appears to be a promising direction. However, patient safety and conscientious adherence to scientific methodology should always remain a priority.
