Anomalies in resistivity and magnetic susceptibility of Mo 8 O 23 and gamma Mo 4 O 11 are presented. The temperature dependence of the susceptibility of Mo 8 O 23 seems to be explained by the fluctuation theory of P.A. Lee et al. (1973) for the Peierls transition of one-dimensional conductors. The compound gamma Mo 4 O 11 undergoes a phase transition to the charge density wave state at 70K and the fluctuation of the charge density wave seems to persist up to a temperature higher than 240K.
