Hens in broiler breeder flocks frequently become excessively fat with an accompanying decrease in egg production. These non-laying healthy appearing birds when autopsied are found to have very fatty and friable livers. This condition was characterized by Couch (1956) as the Fatty Liver Syndrome (FLS). A feed supplement of vitamin E, choline chloride, vitamin B12, whey, antibiotics, kelp, and inositol at various levels and combinations was fed for about 2 weeks with marked improvement frequently observed (Couch, 1968). The current experiment was designed to investigate the effect of continuous feeding of different levels of inositol and choline in a corn-soybean diet. EXPERIMENTAL Sixteen pens of 30 White Rock pullets each were reared on the floor using an ad libitum control diet, 2 ad libitum low lysine diets, and a control diet fed on a skip-a-day basis.
