Early multidisciplinary collaboration and urgent aortic repair with simultaneous restoration of blood flow achieved satisfactory outcomes in a patient with TAAD and malperfusion syndrome.
Why the study?
Acute type A aortic dissection with malperfusion syndrome remains a challenging diagnosis and optimal surgical management remains unsettled.
Case Report (n=1)
Early multidisciplinary collaboration and urgent aortic repair with simultaneous restoration of blood flow can achieve satisfactory outcomes in patients with type A aortic dissection and malperfusion syndrome.
Early multidisciplinary urgent repair may aid TAAD malperfusion outcomes; leaves open optimal protocols for larger studies.
Acute type A aortic dissection (TAAD) with malperfusion syndrome remains a challenging diagnosis and optimal surgical management remains unsettled. We present a case and surgical approach employed for a patient with TAAD and malperfusion syndrome who presented with pulseless bilaterally extremities. Satisfactory outcomes can be achieved with early multidisciplinary collaboration and urgent repair of the aorta and simultaneous efforts to restore blood flow to ischemic tissue.

Moroi et al. (2020) conducted a case report in Acute type A aortic dissection (TAAD) with malperfusion syndrome (n=1). Urgent repair of the aorta and simultaneous efforts to restore blood flow was evaluated on Satisfactory outcomes.
