The studies on bioconvection of Powell Eyring nanofluid containing motile gyrotactic microorganisms over a convectively heated stretching sheet are performed. Addition of microorganism and nanoparticles in the Powell Eyring base fluid will help to stabilise the nanoparticle suspension due to bioconvection which is caused by the combined effects of buoyancy force and magnetic field. The governing basic equations are solved numerically after using similarity transformation. The results are compared with previously published research papers under some limiting cases. The impact of bioconvection and important physical parameters on profiles of velocity and temperature of nanofluid, and nanoparticles concentration, density of motile microorganisms are analysed graphically and in tabular form. The results reveal that the addition of nanoparticles in Powell Eyring nanofluid decreases the nanoparticle concentration with chemical reaction and Schmidt number. The influence of the bioconvection Schmidt number and bioconvection Peclet number decreases the density of the motile microorganisms.
