Case report demonstrates an instructional framework combining generative AI poetry with oral defense in geography student teachers, suggesting practical strategies for AI-assisted assessment.
There is a growing concern, especially how students learn with AI-generated outputs. This case report examines how Generative AI is used in a lesson on the Hadley Cell where undergraduate geography student teachers generated an AI-assisted poem, critiqued its geographical accuracy, defended their critique orally, and revised their work. This is a small illustrative case for the instructional and assessment design using the HEDGE framework of learning with GenAI, and oral defense. The case report from Singapore contributes to learning and assessment in geography with the rise of GenAI, by providing geography educators with examples of AI integration in geography.
