Glass fiber reinforced plastic (GFRP) composite materials have potential applications in automobile, aerospace, and related industries due to their excellent properties. Drilling of these materials is needed for joining of composite structures. In the present work, an attempt has been made to model the delamination factor and surface roughness in machining of GFRP composites through response surface methodology. Three-factors five-levels central composite design is employed for carrying out this work. The results of analysis of variance indicated that the developed models are adequate at 95% confidence level within the limits of factors being considered. The influences of different parameters in drilling GFRP composite have been analyzed in detail.
