Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (EC 1.1.1.49) was purified from rat liver and crystallized. The crystalline enzyme was ultracentrifugally pure and its molecular weight was determined by ultracentrifugation to be 110, 000. The differences between the enzymes from the liver and the erythro-cytes in their dietary responses, kinetics and immunochemical properties were discussed.
