In the present study, we describe a new species of the genus Cincticostella Allen, Citation1971, namely Cincticostella parvula sp. n., based on the larvae collected in Thailand. The larvae of the new species can be distinguished from those of the known Cincticostella species by tiny maxillary palpi with two segments. The new species was compared with the other species known from Thailand (C. insolta (Allen, Citation1971), C. femorata (Tshernova, 1972), C. gosei (Allen, Citation1975) and C. ebura Auychinda, Sartori, and Boonsoong, Citation2022) and placed into the C. gosei species group. Furthermore, a COI phylogenetic tree was reconstructed using sequences from our dataset and the online databases. The phylogenetic analysis supported the delineation of C. parvula sp. n. but not the morphologically distinct species groups within the genus.http://zoobank.org/urn:lsid:zoobank.org:pub:57850025-30DE-47B9-9B7A-CF5F950ABD3B
