Horizontal wells have created a number of new challenges including the appropriate reservoir selection, drilling and completion techniques and, recently, stimulation. The ever lengthening horizontal sections pose considerable problems in fluid distribution, required stimulation fluid volumes and optimization of stimulation versus completion. The pre- and posttreatment productivity indexes, and stimulation execution requirements are the essential elements of the technology presented here.
