The universal pH‐scale in methanol‐water mixtures and in methanol is defined, in terms of the pHst values of standard buffer solutions in these solvents as well as in terms of the pHst values of aqueous standard buffer solutions and the values of Ej(H2O) ‐ Ej(S)/0.05916. The accuracy is satisfactory. (0.01 to 0.12 pH‐units in 0‐90% methanol and 0.27 pH‐units in methanol).
