The second-order Born approximation with Coulomb boundary conditions employing a Coulomb-distorted free-particle Green function (B2B0) is investigated for asymmetric collisions. Exact total and differential cross sections are presented for 1s-1s charge exchange in proton-hydrogen collisions at 125 keV and proton-helium collisions at 5.42 MeV. The B2B0 approximation accurately reproduces the differential cross section at forward angles but does not reproduce the Thomas peak measured by Horsdal-Pedersen et al. (1983) in proton-helium collisions.
