The complexes (X 6 -acen)Ru(PPh 3 ) 2 (X = H ( 1 ) and F ( 2 )) have been prepared and characterized by standard spectroscopic and analytical methods. Additionally, the solid-state structure of 2 has been determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Ligand exchange reactions involving the labile Ru−PPh 3 bond are easily performed, and complex 1 serves as a catalyst precursor for the isomerization of 1-hexene.
