In this study, the production conditions of Mo-B alloys using the SHS method starting from oxidized raw materials, were investigated by XRD and SEM characterizations. The production of these materials, which melt at high temperatures, is difficult due to the high cost and expensive equipment required. The self-propagating structure of the SHS method, which does not require additional energy, provides an important advantage for material production. Therefore, the SHS method was selected for the production of Mo and its borides, and the most suitable Mg stoichiometry was determined by examining the reactants' reduction conditions at varying Mg ratios. As a result of the analyses, it was determined that MgO remained in the structure in addition to Mo-B compounds. Leaching was carried out to remove these unwanted phases. In the leaching process, 6 M HCl solutions were applied to all prepared mixtures and it was seen that the mixture still contained unwanted phases. Afterwards, 8 and 10 M HCl solutions were prepared and a new leaching experiment was carried out. As a result of the experiments, MgO-free Mo, MoB, MoB 2 structures were successfully produced by 10 M leaching of the SHS experiment containing 105 % Mg.
