Thirteen patients with pancreatic pseudocyst were examined by abdominal echography. The procedure, diagnostic difficulties, and contraindications of the technique are discussed. The method has proved highly accurate in establishing the diagnosis as well as in documenting its subsequent course. Widespread use of this noninvasive modality to study such cases serially should increase understanding of this disorder and result in better therapy.
