A stereospecific ring-closure reaction takes place between chiral allenyl carbamates and enones. After lithiation, carbonyl addition, and subsequent carbamoyl (Cb = CONiPr2) group migration (see scheme), a stereospecific conrotatory cyclization leads to 5-alkylidene-2-cyclopentenones.
