Experimental study reveals enhanced oxygen reduction via flexible ether-linked covalent organic frameworks, indicating improved performance in zinc-air batteries.
Metal-Free COFs Electrocatalysts Xuewen Li, Rong Xiang, and co-workers developed a dynamically adaptive COF-based oxygen-reduction catalyst that integrates flexible ether linkages and strongly electron-withdrawing triazine units. The ether linkages create accessible pores that facilitate mass transport, while triazine motifs tune the charge transfer across the framework. By efficiently utilizing oxygen from air, the catalyst enables clean electricity generation in zinc-air batteries. More details can be found in the Research Article (DOI: 10.1002/adma.74027).
