Genomic analysis reveals a multi-chromosomal mitochondrial genome in Guilandina minax, highlighting evolutionary relationships within the legume family Fabaceae.
Guilandina minax (Hance) G. P. Lewis 2020, is an important medicinal plant In this study, its complete mitochondrial genome of was assembled . The mitochondrial genome has a total length of 643,744 bp and is composed of five chromosomes. Among them, Chromosomes 2 and 3 are circular, whereas Chromosomes 1, 4, and 5 are linear. The GC content ranges from 44.81% to 45.32%. A total of 23 core protein-coding genes were identified. Phylogenetic analysis showed that G. minax clustered with Haematoxylum brasiletto and Libidibia coriaria. These findings provide valuable genomic resources for future studies on mitochondrial genome evolution and phylogeny within Fabaceae.
