Amathematical description of the transport of moisture during the drying of grains in intimate contact with a soHd granular adsorbent is presented. Its validity is tested by comparing simulated and experimental results of corn drying with the adsorbent montmorillonite. The simulated drying was observed to agree well with experimental drying and to maintain the significant trends present in experimental data. The utility of the model in simulating adsorption grain drying under various hypothetical conditions and for discriminating between adsorbents is demonstrated.
