Key result
Simultaneous endovascular repair of an abdominal aortic aneurysm and lower limb revascularization was successfully performed in a patient with iliac artery occlusion, with discharge on postoperative day 4.
Why the study?
Is simultaneous endovascular repair and lower limb revascularization safe and effective in a patient with abdominal aortic aneurysm and iliac artery occlusion?
Case Report (n=1)
Is simultaneous endovascular repair and lower limb revascularization safe and effective in a patient with abdominal aortic aneurysm and iliac artery occlusion?
Simultaneous endovascular repair of abdominal aortic aneurysm and lower limb revascularization is a feasible and safe minimally invasive approach in patients with concomitant iliac artery occlusion.
Hypothesis-generating for simultaneous endovascular AAA repair with revascularization; prospective trials needed before clinical adoption.
The authors present endovascular treatment of abdominal aortic aneurysm in a patient with iliac artery occlusion. After examination and assessment of all perioperative risks, specialists preferred simultaneous endovascular repair of abdominal aortic aneurysm and revascularization of the lower limb. Perioperative period was uneventful. The patient was discharged after 4 postoperative days. The authors justify the choice in favor of minimally invasive treatment. Effectiveness and safety of this approach are also concluded.

Susanin et al. (2024) conducted a case report in Abdominal aortic aneurysm with common iliac artery occlusion (n=1). Simultaneous endovascular repair of abdominal aortic aneurysm and revascularization of the lower limb was evaluated on Perioperative outcomes and discharge. Simultaneous endovascular repair of an abdominal aortic aneurysm and lower limb revascularization was successfully performed in a patient with iliac artery occlusion, with discharge on postoperative day 4.
