Fibre reinforcement As a means of strengthening metal, particularly for high-temperature applications, is attracting considerable attention at the present time. This review is intended to cover the practical work that has been carried out both on a laboratory and a semi-pilot-plant scale on fibre-reinforced metals, and to summarize the results obtained. The various papers which speculate upon the properties that might be expected from different combinations of fibre and matrix have not been included.
