The averaged and component magnetic moments of disordered ferromagnetic b c c FeCo and f c c NiCu alloys are calculated using the LCAO-CPA. The calculations are based on charge and spin self-consistent LCAO parameters determined for the pure component metals within the local spin density functional theory. Effects of charge and spin self-consistency on the alloy magnetization are treated in an ad hoc manner. The role of hybridization effects on the alloy component density of states is discussed. The mechanisms determining the concentration dependence of the magnetic moments of the alloy components are explained. Qualitative agreement was obtained with available experimental data.
