A 2Δ–2Π TRANSITION OF SiCl

The unclassified bands of SiCl in the region 2830–2760 Å have been photographed at high resolution. The vibrational and rotational analyses of these bands are discussed. It is shown that the upper electronic state is 2Δ case (b) and the lower state is the ground state X 2Π. The principal molecular constants in cm−1 (except for re, which is in Å) for both the states of 28Si35Cl are as follows:[Formula: see text]A discussion on electron configurations is also given.
