This is usually referred to as Albright's mixture, because Albright (Albright et al., 1940) used it first in cases of renal acidosis. This mixture, however, was first suggested by Shohl (1937) for the treat- ment of rickets and the citric acid was added to facilitate absorption of calcium from the intestine.
