The development of theoretical techniques for the instantaneous calculation of load current components is evaluated. The associated instantaneous calculation of load power components is also evaluated since it is used in the calculation of the currents. The generation of these different power components with respect to compensation are pointed out. Further implementation of the instantaneous power theory is discussed. A three‐phase vector approach to the instantaneous calculation of power components is also discussed. Experimental results obtained by using the instantaneous power theory are illustrated.
