The potential nutritive value of a sample of maize germ meal to the poultry industry has been investigated. Using colostomised laying hens the classical metabolisable energy of the meal has been found to be 3·35 kcal/g. The digestibility coefficients of the crude protein (84·9%), organic matter (74·7%), ether extracts (86·0%) and carbohydrate (48·9%) have been determined.
