In an electron-polarised-photon coincidence experiment the authors have measured the linear and circular polarisation of the 3 1 D to 2 1 P decay radiation (667.8 nm) emitted upon electron impact excitation of the 3 1 D state of helium. Data are presented for an incident electron energy E=45 eV and electron scattering angles theta e =31.2 and 40 degrees . The circular polarisation P 3 was found to be positive at both scattering angles.
