We have investigated electrical properties and the depolarization temperature of lanthanoid substituted (Bi 1/2 Na 1/2 )TiO 3 (BNT) ceramics. BNT and (Bi 1/2 Na 1/2 ) 1 − 1.5x V x/2 Ln x TiO 3 (V = Vacancy, Ln = La, Nd, Sm, Ho, Yb, x = 0.003-0.02; BNTLn100x) ceramics were prepared by ordinary ceramic fabrication process. All samples showed the single phase of a perovskite structure. The piezoelectric constant, d 33 showed a tendency to increase gradually and showed 89.9 pC/N at the maximum for BNTNd1.5. But the depolarization temperature, T d decreased with increasing the amount of x. The change of T d and T m were strongly related to ionic radii of substituted lanthanoid ions.
