Based on our studies, chiefly of meiotic chromosomes , of 223 species of Com positae belonging to 97 genera and dispersed among all the 13 tribes,1 I propose to discuss in this paper the probable evolutionary phylogeny of Compositae, the relationships of its various tribes and the mechanisms of its cytological evolution. This is the concluding paper of the present series on the cytological investigations of the Indian Compositae.
