Centile curves for weight from age five-and-a-half years to maturity were derived from measurements recorded between 1961 and 1969 in a longitudinal growth study of Aboriginal children living at Yuendumu in the Northern Territory of Australia. Average weights of boys and girls were similar until about age nine years. Girls were heavier than boys from about 9 to 14·5 years. The results of the present study support the findings of other investigators who have reported low weights of Aboriginal children compared to Europeans. Differences in weight between Aboriginal and British children ranged in boys from 0·4 kg at birth to 6·6 kg at age 15 years and in girls from 0·5 kg at birth to 10·1 kg at maturity.
