It is demonstrated, by means of an analysis of theoretical relationships, that evaluation of hydrodynamic data by uncritically applied extrapolation methods, especially if the only criterion of their applicability consists in the linearity of graphic plots, may lead to incorrect conclusions about the rigidity of the polymer chain. A simple procedure is suggested for the characterization of the quality of hydrodynamic data from the viewpoint of determination of the rigidity of a polymer chain.
