Analytical modeling demonstrates elastic field solutions for angular dislocations in thin plates, highlighting scalable stress calculations across isotropic and anisotropic media.
An approach is proposed to describe the elastic field of an angular dislocation (AD) whose two branches pierce one of the two surfaces of a thin plate, whether isotropic or anisotropic. The method combines the Green tensor of a semi-infinite medium and complementary elastic fields developed in Fourier series. It leads to solving linear equation systems containing 6 equations and 6 unknowns. Their explicit resolution proves possible for an isotropic medium. Numerical applications on an anisotropic ß-CuZn brass make it possible to verify the validity of the approach. The case of an AD piercing both surfaces can be deduced by adding a straight dislocation placed along one of the two branches of the AD.
