The reaction of 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition of in situ generated azomethine ylide from isatin and L-proline to phosphorylated alkynes was studied. It was found that the reactions proceed under mild conditions with high regioselectivity to afford cycloadducts bearing a spiro[indole-3,3′-pyrrolizine] framework.
