The authors have evaluated a technic introduced by Kato and This technic differs from the ordinary direct smear in that a larger quantity of stool can be adopted on a slide and cellophane is used as a cover in lieu of a glass slip. Kato (1960) emphasized that the technic was simple and of a high sensitivity for the detection of eggs and required a minimum of working time and materials .
