Sir: The biological properties, isolation and characterization of pepstatin, a pepsin inhibitor, were reported in the accompanying paper1}.Here, we report on the structure of pepstatin.Pepstatin is obtained as colorless needles, m.p. 228~229°C (dec), Wd -90.3° (c 0.288, MeOH).It has the molecular formula C34H63-N5O9(M.W. 685.92).Found :
