Chagosensine, a sixteen‐membered chlorinated macrolide, was isolated from the Red Sea calcareous sponge Leucetta chagosensis. Its structure was elucidated mainly on the basis of NMR spectroscopic data. The relative and absolute configurations were determined by analysis of 1H and 13C NMR, NOESY, and CD data, by the modified Mosher’s method, and by using degradation products.
