The single-particle density of states for the incompressible fluid of the fractionally quantized Hall effect at (1/3) filling has been obtained by finite-size numerical calculations. The results suggest a very narrow particle band and a somewhat broader hole band. Excellent agreement between the exact density of states and that of Laughlin's theory is found. I have also obtained the quasiparticle spectral density by using flux injection operators introduced by Laughlin and compared it with the exact result.
