The size of a nucleon, embedded in nuclear matter, is calculated in a nontopological-soliton bag model and is found to be significantly larger than the free-nucleon size. This result is used to estimate the size of nuclear effects in deep-inelastic structure functions for several different nuclei. The calculated effects are in reasonable agreement with recent measurements of the A dependence in electron scattering from nuclei.
