Hamiltonian perturbation theory: periodic orbits, resonances and intermittency

This paper gives an almost self-contained and semi-formal account of a new approach of perturbation theory for Hamiltonian systems (a detailed exposition can be found in a previous paper). We particularly emphasize the connection between some basic physical ideas and their mathematical counterparts.
