Experimental study demonstrates reduced silicon reflectivity from ~35% to ~4% via three-layer gradient-index coating, highlighting performance benefits for light-absorbing devices.
A three‐layer antireflective coating, including a gradient index layer, was designed using numerical optimization and fabricated with cosputtering on a silicon substrate. The average reflectivity of Si was reduced from ∼35 to ∼4% after coating. These multilayer coatings can significantly improve performance devices which need to absorb or emit light.
