The $3Z+2$-dimensional integral for scattering of charged particles by Z-electron atoms, which is obtained in the Glauber approximation, is reduced to a one-dimensional integral. Consequently, the approximation may be applied with relative ease to elastic and inelastic transitions of a wide variety of atoms.
