When a biopsy shows lymphoma, the physician should evaluate the patient with roentgenograms, barium studies, lymphangiography, liver function tests, and other means to determine precisely the extent of disease. If the lymphoma has not disseminated or if it falls in stages I, II-A, II-B or III-A, he can treat with extended-field megavoltage radiotherapy, and patients will have a good chance of being permanently cured.
