Preparation of Cadmium Sulfide Nanowire Arrays in Anodic Aluminum Oxide Templates

Nanowire arrays of CdS were fabricated with the method of injecting the solutions of cadmium acetate and thioacetamide into the pores of anodic aluminum oxide by pressure differentiation. The thioacetamide was used here as the precursor of H2S to ensure the reactants could reach the proper reaction site before the mineralization began. Nanowire arrays with the wire diameters of 20, 32, and 48 nm were prepared with this method.
