Summary The migration of peritoneal exudate cells collected from hamsters experimentally infected with M. pneumoniae was inhibited in the presence of M. pneumoniae antigen. Migration inhibition was demonstrable 1 week after intranasal inoculation of the hamsters with M. pneumoniae organisms and reached a peak 2 to 3 weeks after inoculation. The migration inhibition test became positive before specific CF antibodies had appeared.
