Starting from a simple-minded formulation of the Glauber model of the high energy multiple scattering of strongly interacting composite particles, several generalizations and limiting expressions are derived for the elastic scattering amplitudes at small scattering angles. An extensive discussion of the many possible applications to nucleon-nucleus, nucleus-nucleus and other composite hadron elastic scattering processes is given.
