Single crystals of fully ordered Cu3Au with a Schmid factor favouring slip by the [110] (001) system are deformed in uniaxial compression and the resultant dislocation structure examined using transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Superdislocations are observed having the Burgers vectors belonging to both, the primary octahedral system [101] (111) and the primary cube system [110] (001), but all of the superdislocations with (a/2) [101] Burgers vectors are found to lie on the (010) cross slip plane. The consequences of slip on both, the (001) and (010) planes on the deformation behaviour are discussed with reference to previously observed behaviour.
