Preparation of Piezoelectric Ceramic Transformer Operating in Bending Vibration Mode

A new type of piezoelectric transformer operating in the bending vibration mode was prepared using ceramics with the composition of Pb[Zr0.48Ti0.42(Mn1/3Nb2/3)0.1]O3, which showed an electromechanical coupling factor of k p=0.48 and a mechanical quality factor of Q m=2060. The transformer performed at a frequency as high as approximately 530 kHz and a high power density of 7.9 W/cm3 was realized.
