The acoustic pressure radiated by an infinite elastic plate excited by a time-harmonic point force or moment is obtained. The expression is valid for frequencies above and below the coincidence frequency. Below coincidence the pressure pattern is relatively nondirective and, for all practical purposes, insensitive to structural damping. Above coincidence, the pressure pattern becomes directive, and the peak pressures can be significantly reduced by structural damping.
