Suture-free repair using the EVARREST Fibrin Sealant Patch on cardiopulmonary bypass successfully treated a left ventricular free wall rupture in a patient with Turner syndrome.
Why the study?
Left ventricular free wall rupture is a lethal complication of myocardial infarction with emergent surgical repair as the treatment of choice, but the repair method remains highly individualized.
Can suture-free repair using the EVARREST Fibrin Sealant Patch successfully treat left ventricular free wall rupture?

Can suture-free repair using the EVARREST Fibrin Sealant Patch successfully treat left ventricular free wall rupture?
Suture-free repair using the EVARREST Fibrin Sealant Patch is a viable surgical option for managing left ventricular free wall rupture.
Supports feasibility of suture-free EVARREST repair in this rare SCAD rupture; leaves open broader application.
Left ventricular free wall rupture is a lethal complication of myocardial infarction. Although emergent surgical repair is the treatment of choice, the method of repair remains highly individualized. This report presents a case of spontaneous coronary artery dissection in a patient with Turner syndrome that led to left ventricular free wall rupture and was successfully repaired on cardiopulmonary bypass using a suture-free technique with the EVARREST Fibrin Sealant Patch.

Miller et al. (2024) conducted a case report in Left ventricular free wall rupture secondary to spontaneous coronary artery dissection (n=1). Suture-free repair using the EVARREST Fibrin Sealant Patch was evaluated on Successful repair. Suture-free repair using the EVARREST Fibrin Sealant Patch on cardiopulmonary bypass successfully treated a left ventricular free wall rupture in a patient with Turner syndrome.
